I made the invitations. My fiance and I were considering a Friday wedding, but went with Saturday instead. The date is correct on the wedding invitation, the day still says Friday. I had several people proofread this, but nobody caught it. UGH! The invitations are sealed, labeled, stamped and ready to get dropped in the mail. We have a VERY tight budget for the wedding and only have 45 invitations. Remaking them or opening the invitations will be costly. I know the invitations tend to set the tone for the wedding… Can I put a label on the outside of the envelope with the correct information? HELP! The wedding is March 5 and I need to send/fix something ASAP.

This pay be premature planning, but I want to be ready just in case. I am the MOH in my friend’s wedding, and I am hosting her Bridal Shower at a restaurant. I am paying for it, and it is buffet style, so I need to give them a headcount before hand. I sent out the invitations last month and have received 1 RSVP. The deadline I put on the invite was May 30th to RSVP. If I haven’t heard from anyone else by May 25th, do you think it would be rude to mail out a little reminder card?
I don’t have anyone’s phone numbers or email addresses, they are mostly her family and future-in-laws, along with some of her college friends that I don’t know. I REALLY don’t want to bother her with it, I’m doing all the planning and don’t want to stress her out about it.
I wouldn’t mind paying for the stamps if it doesn’t seem too….I don’t know…pushy?? And how would you phrase it?
There are 25 on the invite list, if that matters.
Oops, there’s always a typo. I meant "this may be premature"…
I am not going to bother her by asking her for a list of 25 phone numbers to family, friends, and in-laws. I’m also not going to pay a head for 25 people if only 15 show up! Along with everything else i’m doing for this shower, my husband would kill me if I spent 0 on food that didn’t all get eaten. lol. My question is, would you think its rude or pushy if you got a little reminder card in the mail, asking you not to forget to RSVP?
For the 1st answer, yes, I know, I sent out the invites last month. I designed them and mailed them to the list the bride provided.

So my fiance and I are getting married in June and we’ve decided not to send out invitations. We created a wedding website through The Knot where people could RSVP if they planned to attend. I posted this site on my Facebook page but soon realized that the RSVPs weren’t working. In an act of desperation to have an idea of who will actually be coming, I created a Facebook event and sent invites to my friends and family that I wanted to attend. So, many of you are asking, why not invitations? My fiance has a HUGE family…one of his five brothers has 12 children and then he’s got his mom’s side of the family as well. Not just that but I work at a public school and I plan to extend an invitation to all employees, which can get pretty expensive if you plan on sending an invite to all of them. And in further addition to all of this my dad is a pastor who will invite the church members, which would include even more invitations at .40 cent per stamp. So I guess what I’m asking is how you would feel if you received a Facebook invite to a wedding. Please bare in mind that the invite does have my linked website with additional information and a link to directly contact me…so it’s not like I’m doing this to invite those that I don’t feel like sending invitations. To me, this seems like a no brainer because I’m 21 and a tech specialist at a school..but I want to hear what others would think about it.
Keep in mind the Facebook invitation are only for the people that are my age and that I went to school with. For the older people that I intend on inviting, there will be an announcement in the newspaper that announces that all friends and family are invited to attend.
Thanks everyone for the input…along with the comments about the idea being low class, tacky, and cheap I would like for all of you to take a second to think about a very important fact. How many of you really believe that a standard mail service other than package delivery will be available in the next 10 to 15 years? It’s not that I’m trying to be cheap or tacky but it is just what my generation has come to and I’ve had 20 of the 60 invited through Facebook contact me saying that they will be attending. This is a significant number since the invite has only been up for a little over a day. In addition to this I live in south Georgia…every wedding announcement in our newspaper states that "No local invitations will be sent. All friends and relatives are invited to attend." So it’s not that uncommon to not send invitations. However, I will more than likely end up doing invitations but it will not be because of the close minded and ignorant remarks I’ve received on here. Thanks guys
My fiancee and I live in two different states. Its been a hard long distance relationship but we made it through everything. As of late planning our wedding has been difficult he just finished school, looking for a job in my state, the process of him moving, and other things that when I need help for simple things his guest list, address, it seems like I have to be pulling my hair to get it. Constantly butting heads how decorations, invitations, and set up is going to be cause he wants to put his "stamp of approval" on it. My mother also puts her two cents and tries to recreate her wedding with mine. So I’m stressed out with this wedding planning, school, and family I need help but can’t afford a wedding planner. So if anyone can help me get on Whose Wedding is Anyways it would help so much. The wedding is early April of 2011. Thanks

Plus I tried to go on their Style.com to see the website, but it has from season 11 casting. When does season 12 casting starts? So if anyone can help me get on Whose Wedding is Anyways it would help so much. The wedding is early April of 2011. Thanks
The casting for season 11 has ended on their website. When does season 12 casting start?
so I have 2 questions actually. First, I have 250 on my guest list(46 are kids and the other 204 are adults). What is the average % of a guest list that actually come? I have been planning on 200 people total when buying things to be safe, but people say im lucky if half show. I do have rsvp’s which leads to my second question. Our wedding is June 28th. I have invitations all done, addressed and with stamps. I was planning to send them out 2 months early and request rsvp’s back in one month(so one month before wedding). Should I wait another 2 weeks to mail out my invites or just send them now? Thanks
people are not going to not come to my wedding because kids are going. Maybe thats how you see things, and maybe those are the kind of people you know, but my friends and family love kids!
I am getting married in July. In the invitations i sent out rsvp cards, had them self addressed and stamped. so far, only 25 people have responded. i need a count for food, etc. The wedding is small, just immediate family only, afterwhich, we will go to the reception site for food and drinks. Than, i sent out invitations for other family members and friends to join us for drinks and dancing. sort of like 2 differant receptions. the wedding is at 3 p.m. and the second half of the reception starts at 6:30. we have very limited space, which is why i am doing it this way, so the food can be put away to make room for dancing. If i don’t have an accurate head count, i don’t know how much alcohol, food etc. to buy. What do with people that show up but did not rsvp?
argsoccer. that would not work as it would be too late to get more food or alcohol after the reception had started.
you may be right about calling, but i feel if i gave them a self addressed stamped envelope and all they had to do what check yes or no and mail it, that is not asking too much.
